Healing Roots Patient Advocacy provides non-medical support to help individuals and families better understand healthcare information and navigate complex medical situations.
With over 10 years of experience working as a medical assistant, I understand how healthcare systems operate behind the scenes — from appointments and referrals to lab results and care instructions.
I support clients by helping them:
When my mother passed away from Leukemia in 2013, my sisters and I were left with so many unanswered questions. We were navigating grief while also trying to understand a healthcare system that felt overwhelming and fast-moving.
A few years later, in 2016, I became a certified medical assistant. My very first role was in oncology — a space where I saw firsthand how often patients and families are asked to absorb complex information while under immense emotional stress.
That experience brought everything full circle for me.
I witnessed how easily important details can be missed, how rushed appointments can feel, and how often families leave visits unsure of what was said or what comes next.
This service exists to help individuals and caregivers slow things down, gain clarity, and feel supported during healthcare conversations — especially during moments when everything feels heavy and unfamiliar.
If you or a loved one need help understanding medical information, preparing for appointments, or navigating healthcare conversations, support is available.
